Script supervisor or scripter is a person in a film or TV crew with multiple functions. She cooperates most closely with the director, and is the connecting link with all sectors. Although her job is partly administrative in nature, the knowledge and skills she must possess are multifaceted. The necessary skills that a good script supervisor possesses are: special concentration and focus during the shot on the exact spoken text and performed physical actions in each double, a good knowledge of the technical aspects of filming and montage thinking - combined with focus and organization. He knows the types of cameras, lenses, filters and camera angles.

Script supervisors are responsible for coordination and continuity, which is especially valuable for productions, because it saves time and money. The job is highly mentally demanding and less physically demanding. A strong script supervisor is usually the "invisible spirit" of the crew who discreetly handles valuable information and at the right moment reminds the director, actors and other crew members of important moments, thereby influencing creative decisions. With their skills, they provide critical and often unrecognized support in the creation of works. Precious, silent and steadfast.

As the script supervisors are in charge of making a compact film unit from a set of details, the awareness also developed to make a group of professionals out of individuals (only one scripter is on the team) that will be unique. The initial idea grew and on 06.05.2021. was realized by establishing the Script Supervisor Association.
